Harold Collins Wingate (1928 - 2019) was born and raised in Grayson County, Virginia.

He began his appraisal career with the Virginia Department of Taxation in 1955 performing reassessment work throughout the State.

He met his wife Millie while working in Botetourt County and became a resident of the County after their marriage.  In 1962 he founded Wingate Appraisal Service, a private appraisal firm based in the Roanoke Valley.

His real estate appraisal experience included property reassessments, highway right-of-way condemnation, machinery and equipment appraisals, and countless narrative fee appraisals.

His influence is ever-present in our company, and we strive daily to conduct business as he would, with integrity, service, honor, and quality.
